There are many cheeses from around the world, and we Canadians enjoy a lot of it. In 2008, for the first time ever, we imported more Italian cheese than from any other country. Parmigiano Reggiano is the most popular, we invite you to "discover" and share some others from around the country.
Cheese plays many roles in enjoying food
- A few varieties of cheese on the table either cut or with cheese knives, are the centerpiece of a great appetizer plate. "Pairings" with crackers, fruit and wine are the perfect complement.
- Grating cheese adds flavour to main course, pasta, soup or risotto.
- Cheese can also add flavour as an ingredient in many "recipes", experiment and substitute for something new.
